Bob Dylan 1989 Never Ending Tour

Touring Band
Bob Dylan:
vocal, guitar, harmonica
George Edward (G.E.) Smith: lead guitar, electric slide guitar, backup vocal
Kenny Aaronson: bass
Tony Garnier: bass
Christopher Parker: drums

The second year of the NET opens with a 21 shows containing European Tour. After seven shows bass player Kenny Aaronson (who had to have an operation in the US) is replaced by Tony Garnier, who remains in every NET-show. The tour continues in Peoria, the US (51 shows) only two days after the last show in Athens, Greece. No songs are played from the forthcoming album Oh Mercy. Dylan did play six Oh Mercy songs in the last leg, the US Fall Tour (27 shows).
The new songs of Oh Mercy, released in September, change the dynamic ‘1988-sound’ in the fall-concerts a little bit. In 1989 Dylan starts to play harmonica again. The format of the shows is the same as in the previous year: two electric sets with an acoustic set in between. One or two encores.

Releases
